
Sri Lanka were bowled out for 212 against England in the Champions Trophy here on Friday.
After England captain Andrew Strauss won the toss and opted for fielding, Sri Lanka were in trouble right from the beginning as their four top-order batsmen returned to pavilion for only 17 runs on the board.
However, Thilan Samaraweera (30) and Thilina Kandamby (53) came to rescue and added 64 runs for the fifth wicket and after Samaraweera departed at 81, Angelo Mathews joined Kandamby and they also added 82 runs for the sixth wicket.
Mathews made 52 but the remaining four wickets fell for 49 runs and Sri Lanka were all out for 212 in 47.3 overs.
For England, pace bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad captured three wickets for 20 and 49 runs, respectively while Graham Onions claimed two for 58..

Sri Lanka beat South Africa by 55 runs in their opening match of the four-team group, while England are playing their first game. New Zealand are the other side in the group.
The top two sides advance to the semi-finals.
