It was Ashwell Prince who was bowled out with an in-swinging delivery from Zaheer Khan which left hosts’ expectations of dominating India scattered badly. South Africa are 100/6 and the Indian total of 205 seems like a K-2 to be conquered with top six batsmen already back into the pavilion.
Although, it was Zaheer Khan who started the Proteas to feel suffocated with his swinging deliveries, especially to left-handers. He picked up three wickets including both openers, Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen, along with Ashwell Prince. Then Singh started to sing and forced hosts to dance to his tunes by grabbing two quick wickets of Dale Steyn and Paul Harris. Harbajan Singh also took the key wicket of Hashim Amla which was the real down turn of South African innings.
Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma also done reasonably good with the ball compared to the 1st test. Sreesanth took another key wicket of AB de Villiers and Ishant Sharma was part of the unlucky run out of Jacques Kallis.
Mark Boucher and Morne Morkel are batting to get South Africa out of trouble and they are still trailing 95 runs.
India took the lead of 74 runs restricting South Africa on just 131. Confident start for the second innings at 20/0.
