Karachi - BCCI had asked for the two umpires, Aleem Dar and Asad Rauf, to be permitted to officiate in the IPL matches, PCB source revealed on Sunday. The 4th edition of IPL is scheduled to be held in India from April 8 to May 22 but none of the franchisees would be accommodating Pakistani players.
"Both will go to India for the IPL games with the approval of the PCB and the International Cricket Council after officiating in the World Cup," a source said.
Aleem Dar was declared the ICC umpire of the year for the second successive year recently, while Rauf is also on the ICC’s elite umpires panel. The IPL will be held in India from April 8 to May 22 but, for the third year running, none of the franchisees would be having Pakistani players.
