London, Sep.6 (ANI): All-rounder James Hopes admits Australia's winning start to the seven-match one-day series has helped prevent depression descending on the tourists' camp.
Hopes, who helped his team take a 1-0 lead with that four-run win, said: "Winning at The Oval has certainly stopped a spiral.
"It's always tough after you have lost an Ashes series. But that win has kick-started our bid to come out on top in this series. England won the Ashes fair and square but we would like to finish here on a high.
We are committed to giving it everything at the end of what has been a long tour," The Mirror quoted him, as saying.
