COLOMBO, Sri Lanka - The brutal left-hander Chris Gayle smashed a blistering unbeaten 75 off just 41 balls and played a key role in a crushing 74-run victory over a listless Australia at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. Gayle hit five fours and half a dozen of towering sixes as West Indies made a mockery of Aussie attack.

Gayle not only performed with the bat, but also amused his team mates and cricket fans with his unique "Gangnam Style" dance after his team reaches in maiden final of ICC World Twenty20 the other night, beating mighty Australian by a huge margin.

Throughout the ongoing tournament Gayle has been doing his own version of a wacky dance from worldwide sensation for South Korean musician Park Jae-Sang.

Last night Gayle used it to celebrate in his own unique style.

“It just happens, to be honest, it wasn't really planned,” Gayle said after last night’s victory.

“That's me, it depends what type of mood I'm in. I'll just do something crazy and it's a good dance, everyone enjoys it.”

GUYANA, May 14 – On the second day of the first test between Pakistan and West Indies; Pakistan got out cheaply for just 160-all out with only four batsmen to reach into double figure score, trailing 66 runs in the first innings.

Earlier on the day West Indies last wicket added 17 runs before they got out for 226 runs. Lendl Simmons was the highest run scorer with his 49 runs. Saeed Ajmal bowled brilliantly and picked up five wickets.

Pakistan started innings casually and lost 6 wickets for just 180; but a lower order resistance by Umar Akmal (33) and Abdul Rehman (40) succeeded to take the score to 160. Azhar Ali was the other significant contributor with his 34 runs.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados - - Rampant Pakistan will clinches the winning lead of 3-0 in 5-match ODI series against West Indies beating the hosts by 3 wickets in the 3^rd ODI at Kensington Oval.

Although Pakistan batting collapsed in the early stage of the innings when Ravi Rampaul took three quick wickets of Muhammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq and Ahmed Shahzad with just 12 runs on the board.

Middle-order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq provided the steadying presence to ensure Pakistan wrapped up their ODI series against West Indies in a rain-reduced match. The veteran right-hander applied patience above all else in a match-winning innings of 62 from 109 balls to edge his side past a modest target of 171 with three wickets in hand.

Misbah-ul-Haq enjoyed a good support first from Umar Akmal (30) and then from youngster Hammad Azam (36). Wahab Riaz also played an impressive little knock of 17 runs off 16 balls to take Pakistan through to the victory. Ravi Rampaul picked up three wickets while Devendra Bishoo took two wickets.

Pakistan become first team to enter semi-finals beating West Indies by 10 wikcets

DHAKA – Pakistan sailed through to semi-finals by crushing West Indies by 10 wickets at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka. 

Pakistan never looses control over the match first with the ball and then with the bat. Muhammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal provided the winning partnership of 113 runs, the best for Pakistan in this world cup. They took only 20.4 overs to achieve the meagre target of 113 runs.   

Earlier West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first; but they never recovered from early set back of Chris Gayle (8) fell to brilliant bowling of Umar Gul and a stunning catch by Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi.

All the bowlers get their share of wickets except Wahab Riaz. Shahid Afridi, who is the most wicket-taking bowler in World cup, claimed four wickets, including important wicket of Sarwan (25). Muhammad Hafeez and saeed Ajmal picked up two wickets each; while Abdul Razzaq and Umar Gul notched one wicket each.

Muhammad Hafeez was named man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.   

Now tomorrow’s second quarterfinal between India and Australia will be played at Ahmedabad and the winner will face Pakistan in the second semi-final at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali (Chandigarh) on March 30.

World Cup Quarterfinal Stage Starting Tomorrow - PAK v WI at Dhaka: Pre-match Analysis of Both Teams

DHAKA - Rampant Pakistan will take on West Indies tomorrow (Wednesday/March 23) in the first of the four quarterfinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. CHENNAI – India will take on West Indies in the last match of the group stage at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

This match is much important for West Indies as a loss with a big margin can rule them out of the World Cup. CHENNAI – Patchy England survived their exit from World Cup after a thriller against West Indies. West Indies fell short of 18 runs towards their target of 244; despite a brilliant knock of 49 by Andre Russell in a quite quick time, after a superb bowling in the first half of the match claiming 4 wickets.

James Tredwell and Graeme Swann led England to quarterfinals and keep their hope alive for the first ever title. Tredwell picked up four wickets, including three of the top four West Indies batsmen; while Graeme swann picked up three, including two in his last over which was 44^th over of the West Indies inning. Ravi Bopara also had a handy bowling spell to claim his two important wickets of Darren Sammy and Devon Thomas.

Victory Against Ireland Took West Indeis Closer to Quarterfinals

MOHALI, India - - West Indies brutally sunk the quarterfinal hopes of giant-killers Ireland here at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali. After been invited to bat first West Indies had a slow but steady in response to some accurate and good bowling by Irish bowlers. 

Wes Indies openers, Chanderpaul (35) and Devon Smith (107), provided a solid opening stand of 89 runs. But the real cameo played by Kieron Pollard by scoring 94 runs off 55 balls. West Indies lower-order collapsed once again and just managed to take the score to 275. Kevin O’Brien showed some skill with the bat and picked up 4 wickets; while John Mooney took 2 wickets. Boyd Rankin, Andre Botha and George Dockrell claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 276, Ireland had a shaky start too losing successive wickets with regular intervals. Only once they seemed comfortable and looking to get the target when Ed Joyace (84) and Gary Wilson (61) were partnering against the West Indies bowling in the middle of their innings. But Darren Sammy struck twice to pick up the wickets of Kevin O’Brien (10) and Gary Wilson.

De Villiers involved in important partnerships first with skipper Graeme Smith (45 runs off 78 balls) and then with Jean-Paul Duminy (42runs off 53 balls). AB de Villiers named man of the match for his match winning innings of 107 runs.

South Africa reached the target in just 42.5 overs. Sulieman Benn, Kemar Roach, and Kieron Pollard picked one wicket each for West Indies.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. West Indies crumbles on just 222 in their first world cup outing against South Africa. COLOMBO, Sri Lnaka – In the second ODI West Indies all out for just 203 in 50 overs, setting a target of 204 for the hosts with an average of mere 4.10 per over.

Double blow of Adrian Barath and Skipper Chris Gayle on 45 runs never let tourists to face Sri Lankan bowlers confidently. West Indies batting crumbled in their innings when they were forced to bat after Sri Lanka won the toss. Windies batsmen just managed to produce average batting performance and getting out with the regular interval of time.

Sri Lankan bowlers never lost their grip on the match and never let visitors’ batting to settle down. In the leadership of Lasith Malinga every bowler played his respective role. Malingla picked up three wickets; Nuwan Kulasekara and Muttiah Muralitharan claimed two wickets each; while Rangana Herath shared a piece.

From West Indies twin Bravo’s were the highest scores with their 39 each. Chris Gayle and Carlton Baugh score 28 each. Last four wickets just added 28 runs.
