CHENNAI –  Patchy England survived their exit from World Cup after a thriller  against West Indies. West Indies fell short of 18 runs towards their  target of 244; despite a brilliant knock of 49 by Andre Russell in a  quite quick time, after a superb bowling in the first half of the match  claiming 4 wickets.
James  Tredwell and Graeme Swann led England to quarterfinals and keep their  hope alive for the first ever title. Tredwell picked up four wickets,  including three of the top four West Indies batsmen; while Graeme swann  picked up three, including two in his last over which was 44th  over of the West Indies inning. Ravi Bopara also had a handy bowling  spell to claim his two important wickets of Darren Sammy and Devon  Thomas.
