WARSAW, Poland (Sat, June 09) – With "Fuck Euro!" written on bare chests and chanting the same and  FEMEN activists marched topless on Friday outside the National Stadium in Warsaw, just few hours before the opening match of the Euro 2012 tournament between Greece and Poland.

Uruguay's football coach Oscar Tabarez's wife hospitalized after acid attack in Montevideo

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay – The wife of Uruguay's football coach, Oscar Tabarez, sustained severe burn injuries after an acid attack, by some unknown persons, near her home in capital city of Montevideo.

According to details; the Silvia Martinez, 61, was walking on her way to home on Saturday afternoon when two unidentified person riding a motorbike came near her and the rear-seated person throw what police described as a "corrosive liquid" over her and vanished from the scene.

Martinez rushed back home where Tabarez called an ambulance. She was admitted to hospital with burns to 25 per cent of her body, including her face and arms.

Tabarez, who led fourth-ranked Uruguay to the World Cup semi-finals last year, informed the police about attack, but the purpose behind the attack remain mystery - though Martinez told earlier that she had been receiving death threats.

"They didn't steal anything. They threw the liquid while slowing down and then sped off," said Montevideo police spokesman Jose Luis Rondan. "They didn't shove her, or insult her, nothing."

The former midfielder won 85 international caps and had been national team boss for 10 games. Speed has played for Everton, Newcastle, Bolton and Sheffield United before being appointed manager of Wales in December 2010 after retiring as a player in May last year.

A police spokesperson told that police was informed about the sudden death at an address in Huntington at 7.08 am on Sunday 27 November 2011. When police reached at the address the 42-year-old was found dead. The next of kin have been informed and have confirmed the identity of the man as Gary Speed.

Tributes are continuously pouring in for Gary Speed from the greats of footballs all around the globe.

The Manchester United striker Michael Owen, who lives near the star, tweeted: "Just cannot believe the news regarding Gary Speed. We waved at each other a couple of days ago dropping our kids off at school. I'm numb."

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) chief executive Jonathan Ford said: "I, and all of the football family of Wales, am devastated by the news of Gary's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this difficult time."

The episode of Cesc Fabregas’ transfer to Barcelona is looking like heading towards a conclusion last night as Arsenal finally has shown a green signal to allow him to leave as well as accepting an offer for Samir Nasri from Manchester City in two deals worth around £60m in total.

Barcelona expects to tie up a deal for Fabregas this week that is weighted in favour of his great success in the last season. Reportedly, the deal to be finalized is thought to be €34m paid up front and up to €6m in add-ons. Those add-ons break down as €2m for each of the first two league titles Fabregas might potentially win and another €2m for a Champions League victory.

The payments are designed over his first five years at the club and depend upon the number of game he would play for Barcelona. The incentive for Barcelona is that it is a way of them staggering the payments. Yet the deal still falls well short of the £40m valuation previously put on the player this summer by Wenger.

As far as Samir Nasri is concerned, it would now appear that Wenger is ready to sell the player this summer to Manchester City for £23m. Nasri is out of contract next summer and already had a £200,000-a-week deal on the table from City. Contrary to a claim made earlier that it would be impossible for Arsenal to sell both players, the passion of both players to leave Arsenal has left Wenger with little option.
