4th Match, Group C: Cape Cobras v Otago at Hyderabad (Decc) - - Puttick Shines in The Comprehensive Victory of Cobras By 54 Runs



Cape Cobras 193 for 4 (Puttick 104*, Ontong 39*, Duminy 32) beat Otago 139 (Nathan McCullum 38, Kleinveldt 3-24) by 54 runs

HYDERABAD: Cape Cobras defeated Otago by 54 runs in Group C match of the Champions League here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal.

Batting first, Cobras amassed 193 runs for four wickets in the allotted 20 overs with the help of a fine unbeaten century by opener Andrew Puttick.

He made 104 runs from only 62 balls with three sixes and 12 boundaries. He added 95 runs with JP Duminy for the third wicket and 54 with Justin Ontong for the unbeaten fifth wicket partnership.

Duminy scored 32 off 25 balls with two sixes and two fours while Ontong remained not out on 39, made from just 14 balls with four sixes and two fours.

In reply, Otago were bundled out for 139 in 17.1 overs as only the McCullum Brothers could resist the Cobras bowlers.

Nathan McCullum made 38 and his brother Brendon scored 21.

For Cobras, Rory Kleinveldt was the most successful bowler claiming three wickets for 21 runs while JP Duminy took two wickets for 10 runs.
