Marion Bartoli's Convincing Performance Against Israel's Shahar Peer Lead Her to Semi-finals of Tournament of Champions in Bali

Top seed Marion Bartoli produced a convincing performance to beat Israel's Shahar Peer and secure her place in the semi-finals of the Tournament of Champions in Bali.

Frenchwoman Bartoli took 76 minutes to defeat Peer 6-3 6-2 and set up a clash with Kimiko Date Krumm of Japan on Saturday for a place in the final.

Date Krumm progressed to the last four after US Open semi-finalist Yanina Wickmayer withdrew from the tournament following the news of her one-year ban for missing doping tests. The world number 18 was suspended by the Flemish Doping Tribunal after failing to declare her whereabouts on three occasions.

First alternate Vera Dushevina of Russia took Wickmayer's place in the draw and defeated Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues 2-6 6-1 7-5, but Date Krumm's place in the last four was already confirmed.

France's Aravane Rezai had secured her place in the semi-finals with wins on Wednesday and Thursday and will play Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez after the Spaniard progressed with a 7-6 (7/4) 7-5 win over second seed Samantha Stosur of Australia.
