Wayne Rooney Played a Pivot Role in The Manchester United's 3-1 Victory Against Hull City

LONDON: Manchester United beat Hull 3-1 to close to within two 2 of league leaders Chelsea in the race for the English Premier League title. Wayne Rooney scored one and was instrumental in Manchester United’s other two goals at the Kingston Communication Stadium.

The win leaves Manchester United with 40 points with Chelsea on 42 and Arsenal on 38 with a game in-hand. Premier League Title odds are now 9/4 for United with Chelsea out to evens and Arsenal cut to 7/2.

Manchester United local rivals Manchester City have also been cut down to 33/1 after their win at the weekend.

Wayne Rooney scored the opener in the second minute of injury-time to give the visitors the lead at half-time, but Hull City caused problems of their own and Craig Fagan leveled from the penalty-spot on the hour-mark after Jozy Altidore was brought down by Rafael Da Silva.

An own-goal from Andy Dawson gave United the lead again in the 73rd minute, with the Tigers veteran turning the ball into his own net from close-range to make it 2-1 to the visitors, despite the home-side having had chances themselves.

Dimitar Berbatov was on-hand to score United’s winner in the 82nd minute, tapping-in a cross from Wayne Rooney from close-range to seal the 3-1 win for United.
