2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals - - Roger Federer Confident to Gain No. 1 Position in 2011 After Current Victory Against Rafa Nadal

Spaniard Rafael Nadal dominated throughout this tennis season; however, he could not finish it on a winning note. He has not been able to win his first ever ATP World Tour Finals title as he was deprived of by the Swiss Master. Roger Federer, the current world number 2, crushed the top player in the world in three sets: 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to seal the ending title of the year 2010 for the fifth time, at the O2 arena in London.

Swiss tennis star, Roger Federer, won this title was in 2007 and this victory means more to him than the 1500 ranking points or the $1.63 million prize money that he got. Roger Federer believes his ATP World Tour Finals triumph against Rafael Nadal will provide him with the perfect momentum to return to the top in 2011. The victory helped him to establish to his fans, tennis world and his critics that he is still as hungry for winning as he used to be in past.

Last time, these two players met in London, it was 2008 Wimbledon final, where Rafael Nadal edged past Federer in a heroic fight of five sets. Some believe that was the best match in tennis history till date.

Although Roger Federer is publicly inflexible; he has nothing to be thwarted about over the last 12 months, but privately he will feel a irksome sense of regret at the loss of the world number one ranking to Rafael Nadal, who also took the French Open and Wimbledon titles from the Swiss star.
