History of Asian Games From 1951 to 2010:

16th Asian Games at Guagzhuo, China (From 12th November to 27th November) heading towards the finishing line. Many sports fans will love to know about "History of Asian Games". 

Asian Games Organizers improved their criteria on all dimensions with respect to participating countries, number of athletes, number of sports and events from 1951 to 2010.  

Asian games started in 1951 from New Delhi, India with only 11 countries, 489 athletes, 6 sports and 57 events. Now in 2010 these numbers are increased tremendously. In fact, 16th Asian Games turned out to be the biggest event with respect to number of events and number of sports. In the 16th Asian Games 45 countries participated with their 10156 athletes competing in 42 sports for 476 Gold medals.
