India and South Africa are facing each other in the first ODI game of the series. Both the teams are taking it as prelude to their preparedness for the World Cup that is approaching. Merely 38 days are left when the World Cup begins in South Asia. Three countries together are hosting the series. India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are the three hosts of the tournament, with Pakistan being excluded from the list of hosts following increased level of militancy in the hotbed of terrorism.
India’s better performance in the series will mean that the Indian team is really going to be a serious contender for the top slot.
But the problem that India has always faced is the fact that while it does exceedingly well against best of the teams it fails to deliver against underdogs and I thought that it was a good idea that India also plays a series against Bangladesh that have really proven themselves to be more than Tigers at least on their turf.
So all the cricket experts are sure to analyse the series in terms of the respective teams’ preparedness for the World Cup. And I am sure both the teams are going to perform in the best of their capacities.
South African’s bowling is far superior to India on any given day with Steyn and Morkel leading the assault. India’s batting on the other hand is far superior than the hosts.
