NBP Suspends the Contracts of Spot-fixing Trio: Iqbal Qasim

KARACHI – Tainted Pakistan trio had another blow today when former chief selector and head of sports division of NBP, Iqbal Qasim, refused to renew the contracts of Muhammad Aamir, Muhammad Asif and Salman Butt. Their last contracts have expired on December 2010.

These three players have recently been banned for different terms from 5 to 10 years by ICC under the investigation report of their independent anti-corruption tribunal.

Iqbal Qasim said in his statement that the players have no more cricketing careers after a ban of at least five years by International Cricket Council (ICC) and they are not supposed to participate in any cricketing event during this ban.
