Zimabawe to bat first in Group A Encounter against Pakistan

KANDY – Zimbabwe has won the toss and chose to bat first here at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy. 

Pakistan has not very good memories associated with the venue ‘Pallekele’, where they lost their first match of the World Cup 2011 against New Zealand by a huge margin of 110 runs on last Tuesday (March 8).

Today they are set to play their 5^th match of the World Cup against Zimbabwe on the same venue. Before today’s match both teams have been face to face 40 times and Pakistan has emerged victorious in 36 while one match has been tied and one fetched no result.
