LAHORE - The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced the final 18-member squad for Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament starting from May 5 in Ipoh, Malaysia.
The 7-nation tournament will last on May 15 and 22 matches will be played among world champions Australia, Asian Champion Pakistan, Britain, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and South Korea.
Pakistan has won the Azlan Shah event in 1987 and 1991. They will face New Zealand in their opening match on May 5 and archrivals India on May 11. Detailed tournament schedule is given here below.
Pakistan squad will enjoy the leadership of new captain Mohammad Imran while Shakil Abbassi will be vice captain for the tour. Rest of the squad is as under:
Imran Shah, Imran Khan, Sohail Abbas, Waseem Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Tauseeq, Fareed Ahmed, Mohammad Rashid, Waqas Sharif, Haseem Khan, Mohammad Rizwan Ali, Mohammad Zubair, Mohammad Umar Bhutta, Kashif Shah, Rehan Butt and Waqas Akbar.
