French Open 2011 (Men's Single) - Serbia's Novak Djokvic sailed into semis after Quarterfinal Walkover

PARIS -- Serbia's tennis star Novak Djokvic cruised into the French Open semifinals after Italy's Fabio Fognini withdrew from the quarterfinal match due to injury.

Novak Djokvic beat France's Richard Gasquet on Sunday in straight sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-2).

Dazzling Djokovic is on a 41-match winning streak since the start of the year and will need just one more win to equal John McEnroe's 1984 record when he plays the semifinal in Paris on Friday.

The walkover involved in getting him to the last eight will not count as part of the streak, officials confirmed, so the world number two Serbian will have to win the title for the first time if he is to break the American's record at Roland Garros.

The Australian Open champion might meet third seed and 2009 winner Roger Federer in the semi-finals if the Swiss wins his quarter-final.

Fognini confirmed his presence at this year’s Wimbledon. He added, "It's the best tournament of my career. But this is the best solution."
