Afridi-PCB Row: Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza gilani, Asks Report from Sports Ministry

ISLAMABAD – The conflicts between Afridi and PCB got worsened with the yesterday’s updates; when PCB not only fined former ODI captain but also cancelled all of his NOC’s and banned him for 15 matches.

Reacting to the situation; Shahid Afridi requested President Asif Ali Zardari, who happened to be Patron in Chief of Pakistan cricket, to intervene and save cricket in Pakistan.

Shahid Afridi’s shocking announcement of his retirement from international cricket followed by his media outburst against PCB chairman Ijaz Butt and PCB management has raised several questions at the highest levels. 


Reportedly, Prime Minister’s office came into action and Federal Minister of Sports has been given a week time to submit the report on this issue.

A spokesperson of PM’s office on Thursday told reporters that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has sought an independent update from the sports ministry over the recent row between the former skipper and the PCB.
