Stuart Broad Played a Key Knock to Save England a Complete Sink as India Grips the Second Test



NOTTINGHAM - - Second test between India and England enters into second day with the domination of Indian bowlers on the day one. India has to force back to level the series after a humiliating loss at Lord’s in the series opener, which happened to be the 2000th test in the history of cricket.

India was trailing by 197 runs with 9 wickets in hand and two experienced players, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid were batting on 13 and 7 respectively. Young opener Abhinav Mukund fell early to James Anderson without disturbing the scorers.

Earlier on the day one; India won the toss and MS Dhoni, after having a close look to the pitch, decided to invite the hosts to bat first which proved a good decision and all the English side sent back to pavilion on just 224 with Stuart Broad topping the batting list with his defiant 64-run innings. Andrew Strauss (32), Ian Bell (31) and Kevin Piertersen (29) were other significant batsmen from England.
