Pakistan's Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over South Korea Led Them on the Top of the Points Table

ORDOS, CHINA - First Men’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy is being played in Ordos, China. Asian Hockey Champion Pakistan cruised into a nail-biting 3-2 victory over South Korea in on Wednesday to top the points table in the tournament.

Pakistan is scheduled to play against India in its fifth match on Friday (September 9). Pakistan has lost only one match out four matches they played until now in this tournament. Currently Pakistan is at the top spot in the tournament with 9 points followed by India with 8 points.

Japan are placed at third spot with seven points with Korea on fourth after bagged six points. These four teams have a possibility of entering the final.

Pakistan completely dictated the terms of play in the first half grabbing firm 2-0 lead; but failed to maintain their hold in the second half of the match in which Koreans fought back with determination scoring two goals. The green shirts then came up with anther storming gesture scoring the decisive goal, leaving the opponents in disarray.

Goals were scored by Muhammad Waqas Sharif, Muhammad Irfan and Shafqat Rasool.
