Shoaib Malik's Timely 39-run Innings Vital in Victory against England in First T20I (Video Highlights)

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, running a bad patch of form, played an important innings of 39 runs in the first Twenty20 Interntaional against England yesterday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

Malik joined skipper Misbah-ul-Haq at 73/5 when Pakistan was losing their control over the match after a flying start provided by debutant Awais Zia (18) and Muhammad Hafeez (23). Pakistan lost Shahid Afridi (7) and Umar Akmal (0) in the 11th over by some superb bowling by Graeme Swann.

Malik started shakily but later on settled well and played his natural game to take Pakistan to a formidable total of 144. He was the highest runs getter with his 39 off 33 balls, with the help of five boundaries and a huge six off Samit Patel. 

England fell nine runs short of the target due to impressive bowling effort by Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal and lost the match by 8 runs.
