Hockey World Cup 2010 - - Pakistan Vs. Australia: Pakistan Leading Australia With 1-0 at the End of First Half

Pakistan takes on Australia in his last match of the Hero Honda FIH World Cup her on Monday. The Pool B was not much important except to get a victory to save some of its historical pride in the international hockey.

In the 26th minute of the match Pakistan got their first penalty corner and Sohail Abbas hit the ball in to the right (of the goal post out of the reach of the Australian goal keeper scoring his second of the tournament and first for Pakistan in the match to take the lead over Australia.

Earlier in the match Australia played aggressively and attacked Pakistan goal post many times; but Slaman Akbar (Pakistan Goal keeper) proved to be concrete wall and showed great goal keeping skills to negate all the efforts from Australians.

In the first 10 minutes of the second half Pakistan played with great commitment but couldn't stop Australia to level the score in 38th minute; when Australian forward Abbot scored a beautiful field goal. In this time period Pakistan wasted two more penalty corners. Aggressive show off by Pakistan earned penalty corners in 5th and 10th minutes; but couldn't be converted into goal by penalty corner expert Sohail Abbas.
