Mohsin Khan Replaced Iqbal Qasim As Chairman of The Selection Committee - - According to An Announcement From PCB

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced former Test cricket Mohsin Hasan Khan as Chairman of the Selection Committee while Mohammad Ilyas, Salim Jaffer and Azhar Khan will continue as regular members with Asif Baloch and Farrukh Zaman as co-opted members of the committee.

“PCB announces the appointment of Mohsin Hasan Khan, former test cricketer, as Chairman of the Selection Committee with immediate effect,” a statement by the cricket board read.

Mohsin, 54, played in 48 Tests and 75 ODIs from 1977 to 1986, retired from the international cricket to pursue a film career. He was the first Pakistani batsman to score double hundred at Lord's.

Pakistan have had three chairman selectors in the last 12 months, with Abdul Qadir resigned over the lack of independence in the role and Iqbal Qasim had resigned following Pakistan's disastrous tour of Australia.

PCB had earlier offered the position to the former opener Saeed Anwar but the 41-year-old turned down to own the role instead offered his services as a batting consultant.
