Napier, New Zealand – In the 4th ODI New Zealand set a target of 263 for Pakistan after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Pakistan has to score with 5.25 runs per over to get lead in the series.

Pakistan bowlers dominated most part of the New Zealand innings but loosened the grip after getting Brendon McCullum’s wicket number six on just 141 on the board. Pakistan had to pay the price for the relaxed behaviour while New Zealand’s lower order cashed it and collected 121 runs to set a relatively stiff target for the opposition.

James Franklin scored the highest with his 62 runs knock off 75 balls. Martin Guptill scored 40, Jamie How and Ross Taylor lost their wickets on 44 after scoring 13 and 4 runs respectively.

Scott Styris and Kane Williamson couldn’t have long lasting effect on the pitch and departed after scoring 11 and 15 runs. After losing five wickets for just 79 runs James Franklin and Brendon McCullum exhibited a relatively steady batting skill and added 63 runs to New Zealand total before the fall of McCullum (37) to Wahab Riaz on 141/6. The best partnership came out of 64 between Franklin and Nathan McCullum. In the eights wicket partnership Nathan McCullum and Daniel Vettori scored 57 runs.

Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq bowled superbly in terms of wickets and economy. Riaz claimed three wickets and Razzaq bowled his seven overs with just 2.3 runs per over and took wicket of Jamie How. Muhammad Hafeez also had good bowling spell claiming one wicket in his seven overs costing 25 runs. Shahid Afridi took one wicket of James Franklin.
