FIFA executive committee member Mohamed bin Hammam says the 2022 World Cup should be played in the summer but he's open to considering a change to the cooler winter months.
Bin Hammam, a Qatari who is also the president of the Asian Football Confederation, says any discussion of the change should not take place until after 2018, when Russia will host the World Cup.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter and several other soccer executives in Europe are in favor of moving the tournament to the cooler months.
Last month, Bin Hammam told a soccer conference that it would benefit players to move the tournament to January.
