Chelsea Were Unconcerned With The Threat of Swine Flu Before Carling Cup Visit of Bolton - - Said Chelsea Manager Carlo Ancelotti

The Chelsea manager will make changes for the fourth round tie but insisted none of the players missing were suffering from the illness.

Chelsea beat Blackburn 5-0 on Saturday and Sam Allardyce, their manager, revealed that players, including Christopher Samba and David Dunn, had been suffering from the illness.

Allardyce claimed that Chelsea's players were likely to contract the illness, but Ancelotti insisted that the club had taken all necessary precautions and that they were unconcerned over fears of a wide-scale outbreak at Stamford Bridge.

"I'm not worried", said the Italian. "The flu is not only on the pitch, it's everywhere. I'm not worried. We take all the precautions and we want to think about playing, that's it.

"I know very well what I have to do if I have the flu. It's not a medical prescription. It's my grandmother's prescription: milk and red wine. Fantastic."

Ancelotti will make changes against Bolton, though, adding: "We have some players injured at this moment who cannot play tomorrow. Jose Bosingwa, Ashley Cole, Yuri Zhirkov, Sam Hutchinson and John Obi Mikel are not ready to play. Maybe they can return next week in the squad.

"I want to rest John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, Nicolas Anelka and Petr Cech. Other players will be in the squad tomorrow.

Ancelotti insisted that Chelsea were taking the competition seriously, adding: "It's important because it's the first final of the season and we want to be there in that final. It's the first title in the season.

"We have a good opportunity tomorrow. We will change the team, but we will still put on the pitch a very competitive team."
