The Home Ministry has issued an advisory for the Maharashtra government and massive security arrangements are now in place.
"We will give fool proof security to IPL," says Maharashtra DGP AN Roy.
Ranked amongst the top five cricket stadiums in the world, the DY Patil stadium promises to be an electrifying venue for the high-voltage climax clashes of the IPL, but can the security apparatus ensure foolproof security?
Unprecedented security measures will be in place for the two matches. Spectators will have to go through three security checks. The list of items not allowed inside the stadium includes bags, mobiles, and even water bottles. There will be no parking near the stadium. The one km radius around the stadium will be under strict surveillance while the ground will be sealed until the match day.
While Mumbai is gearing up for the matches, Bangalore is still hurting from the loss. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium wears a deserted look, except for the IPL logistics officials packing up.
The Karnataka government even sees a conspiracy and has ordered the police to find out if the blasts were aimed at driving away the IPL matches.
