A WEST Australian woman has been killed in Spain in a collision between her bike and a vehicle.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) said it could confirmed a 34-year-old woman had died after the bicycle she was riding in Tarragona, in Spain's north-east, was involved in a collision with a vehicle.
The 34-year-old woman was among a group of cyclists hit by a van south of Barcelona.
"Consular staff from the Australian embassy in Madrid and consular officials from DFAT will provide consular assistance to her family in Australia," a spokesman said.
WA Police confirmed they had notified the woman's family of her death in Perth.
The name of the woman, who is believed to be a triathlete, has not been released.
