Target of 247 proved too much for the Zimbabwe. They just managed to reach 181 before getting back to the pavilion in the 49th overs of their innings leaving the series 2-1 in favour of the hosts, Bangladesh. Second consecutive and comprehensive victory will surely help Bangladesh to restore their confidence after the dramatic loss by 9 runs in the first ODI of the series.
Prosper Utseya was the real and only resistance came from Zimbabwe in the wake of falling wickets all along him. He made fighting 67 off 101 balls before falling to Shafiul Islam in the 49th over of the Zimbabweans innings. Other than Utseya; there were only the tail-enders who provide a bit of assistance to their captain. First six wickets of Zimbabwe just manged to collect a small total of 47. Keeping in view of the situation when Zimbabwe was 47/6; the total of 181 is clearly a fight back by the tail-enders in the leadership of their captain on the crease.
Bangladesh again controlled the proceedings throughout the match; first by their fighting spirit in the batting after losing 4 wickets for just 71 on the board, secondly their brilliant bowling proved to be the lethal weapon against the weak batting line up of Zimbabweans. Abdur Razzak having a wonderful season, especially the ongoing series against Zimbabwe. He again took four wickets and was very close to five wicket haul if he would be able to hang on the straight forward return catch of Raymond Praice; who later on fell prey to Shafiul Islam, another pick of the day in the bowling section of Bangladesh. He also claimed four wickets for costing just 43 runs in his 9.1 overs. Abdur Razzak gave only 14 runs to register his four wickets in the record books.
Abdur Razzak was named as Man of the Match for his super bowling and claiming 4 wickets for just 14 runs in this 10 overs. He stated his joy in the post-match presentation as:
"I am really happy, delighted with my bowling effort. I was happy to see the wicket since I knew that there would be something in it for me. I dropped a simple catch which could have given me my 5 wickets but it doesn't matter as long as the team wins. I am looking forward to the next 2 games in the series, and of course the World Cup."
