American Tennis Great Andre Agassi Inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame

After one of the most successful careers in American tennis, Andre Agassi is finally being inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame.

Agassi first went professional in 1986. He finally retired after playing one last U.S. Open in 2006, losing to Benjamin Becker.

Over his career, Agassi has won each major at least once. He is one of the few players to have a Grand Slam, which indicates that he has won all four major tournaments: The Australian Open, The French Open, Wimbledon, and The U.S. Open. He also has a “Golden Slam,” meaning that he has also won a gold medal at the Olympics.

Agassi is married to women’s tennis great Steffi Graf, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. The ceremony to induct Agassi will be on July 9 in Newport, Rhode Island. Agassi is the only player being inducted this year.

Agassi continues to be involved with tennis even after retirement. He and Graf live in Las Vegas. In 2001, he founded the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy.
