MELBOURNE, Australia – After a lot of twists and turns throughout the second semifinal played between World No. 5 British Andy Murray and World No. 7 Spanish David Ferrer; at last Murray made it to the final defeating Ferrer 4-6 7-6 6-1 7-6.
This defeat shattered the dreams of Spanish to reach his maiden Grand Slam final; while Briton managed to reach his third Grand Slam final. Murray’s win set a clash with World No. 3 Novak Djokovic of Serbia on Sunday.
After the match, Murray admitted that he has lost the track on the score in the second set for the first time in such a big match, as he has been a bit confused. Anyway, this is Murray's third time to reach a Grand Slam final, and he is now battling to win his first Grand Slam title on Sunday.
