ZURICH – FIFA has decided to distribute an extra $300,000 to each member from the profits of 2010 FIFA World Cup played in South Africa.
In an official statement on Friday; FIFA revealed that the payment is in addition to the $250,000 every country receives annually for the development of the game in the country. Brunei will not get this share from FIFA as it is currently suspended from FIFA membership and is the only one of FIFA's 208 members excluded.
Other than FIFA members, each of FIFA's six continental confederations will get an extra $2.5 million. FIFA's annual financial reports, likely to be finalized in March, are expected to reveal total commercial revenues of around $3.4 billion for the four-year cycle.
