Melbourne, Australia - Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi advanced to Australian Open doubles final beating Max Mirnyi (Belarus) and Daniel Nestor (Canada) on Thursday.
Third seeded Paes-Bhupathi duo overcame second-seeded pair in a hard-fought semifinal with 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Indian pair joined hands after nine years to bag the only missing Grand Slam title.
Top-seeded Bryan Brothers (Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan) of USA, who won the semifinal match with a straight set victory over Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer, are the last hurdle in between the title and Indian Pair.
