GRINDELWALD, Switzerland (Sun, Mar. 11) – The tragic death of Canadian ski cross racer Nik Zoricic Saturday left the ski world in deep shock. The incident was second of its kind in this year as Olympic half-pipe specialist Sarah Burke died of fatal injuries sustained from a fall during a training run in January.

The 29-year-old Nik Zoricic was killed after a deadly crash during a World Cup event in Grindelwald, Switzerland.
According to details; Zoricic crashed into safety netting on the course’s boundary during a jump near the end of the ski cross course. He didn’t even move after the crash and was airlifted to hospital in Interlaken, Switzerland but was declared dead at 12:35 p.m., local time. “Severe neurotrauma” led to the skier’s death, announced by the International Ski Federation.
