Lethal exhibition of fast bowling from South Africa left India in deep trouble; as they scrambled for 120/8 after 24 overs, needing India 131 more runs in 22 overs.

Opener Parthiv Patel was the only resistance from top-six batsmen with his smashing 38 off 34 balls. The damage started with the wicket of Rohit Sharma who fell prey to L Tsotsobe on the total score of 21. India kept on losing important wickets with regular intervals and started to feel the heat on 60/5 after 12 overs.

Morne Morkel claimed three wickets including Patel, Kohli and Dhoni after scoring 38, 2 and 5 runs respectively. Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina forced to play shots that only find fielder on the way. Dale Steyn took Raina and Yuvraj on 8 and 11 runs respectively.

Then spinners came into action when Johan Botha and Peterson trapped Harbajan Singh and Piyush Chawla very cheaply.

The only hope in form of Yusuf Pathan is on the crease with 27 runs off 31 balls accompanied by Zaheer Khan.
