Zimbabwe, having won the toss, elected to field and Chris Mpofu struck in the very first over of the morning. Tamim Iqbal (0), the danger man, was the first to go in an lbw trap. Bangladesh was yet to open their run book.
Junaid Siddique (1) was stunningly caught out by Prosper Utseya in a delivery of Shingirai as he flicked the ball in their on the onside for a catch to Utseya, who was in square leg, diving to his right plucked the ball with one hand. Bangladesh total was 5 for 2 wickets.
The other opener Imrul Kayes and Raqibul Hasan then put up a partnership of 42, but eventually Raqibul was sent back by Utseya, trapped by another rightly taken leg before wicket shout.
Imrul Kayes mistimed a sweep to clip the ball in the air for the keeper Tatenda Taibu in the bowling of Utseya again, with Bangladesh on 71 for 4.
Shakib Al Hasan (12) and Mushfiqur Rahim (12) are at the crease, battling with both the Zimbabwe bowlers and the condition out on the pitch. The drowsy weather has made the playing ground home of moistures and a continued drizzle made the conditions even worse.
Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are 1-1 in the series and today both the teams will try to take lead.
