Bring Soccer and Cricket Face to Face in Pakistan - - Suggestion by George Kottan

The man in the picture is George Kottan. He is the national coach of Pakistan football team.

He wants to have matches between pakistan cricket team and football team.

Kottan, an Austrian, has sought a meeting with cricket captain Younis Khan to get him on board regarding his proposal.

"I think, it would be the first effort of its kind in Pakistan and I expect that it would pull more than 50,000 spectators," Kottan was quoted as sying in The News.

"The matches could be conducted under floodlights either in Lahore or Karachi, and I think the most appropriate would be after the Champions Trophy in South Africa."

Kottan hoped that Younis will support his idea.

"I am going to meet with Younis Khan and will discuss with him the novel idea of organising football and cricket matches between the national football and cricket teams of the country," he said.

"The rules would be that in the football match our players will kick the ball with left foot while in cricket match the players of the Pakistan cricket team will hold and throw the ball with left hand only," he said.

It may mentioned here that Younis and may other Pakistani cricketers are avid footballers and are mostly seen playing the game during training sessions at home and abroad.

If this happens, it will be a match worth watching. It will be nice to see cricketers on football field and soccer players on cricket pitch. Lets hope pakistan cricket team agrees with it. It will be match which may gain attention of cricket and soccer fans like me!

What you guys say!
